Question about UV Light Filters

Ok, so I know the stuff Trump said about putting UV Light or Injecting Disinfectant into the body being utterly the pinnacle of stupidity. But the UV Light thing got me thinking:

Could a sort of Gas Mask be made where instead of the Chem/Foam Inserts being used to block contaminants, could a sort of UV Filter be made where it filters the molecules in the air and neutralizes contaminants?

I am not a scientist or engineer so I don’t know if the tech could even be used this way, so my apologies for any potential ignorance lol
