Bearcat 250 1979 Scanner

My family inherited a cottage owned by a now passed on ex-sheriff and conservation officer. One of the dozens of old tech he had in his house was an old 1979 Bearcat 250 scanner.

I’m currently in the process of cleaning all the dirty and grime off the exterior. It turns on and the LED display works because I can see a timer counting upward every time I plug it in. I have very little knowledge on this kind of technology and this model.

If anyone has any sources that can help me get something more out of it and discover more about it or advice, please let me know!
